    On the day of your event, it is a legal requirement for each participant to complete an official Police declaration form for the relevant State (example for NSW – P650). For participants under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must be in attendance and sign the forms on the day.

    • Are you and all intended participants of the age of 12 years or over?

    • Have you been refused or prohibited from holding a firearms licence or permit or had a firearms licence or permit suspended, cancelled or revoked?

    • Have you in NSW or elsewhere been the subject of a firearms prohibition order?

    • Have you within the last 10 years been convicted of an offence involving firearms, weapons, prohibited drugs, robbery, violence, terrorism or an offence of a sexual nature?

    • Have you in NSW or elsewhere within the last 10 years been the subject of a Family Law or Domestic Violence Order or an Apprehended Violence Order (other than an order that was revoked)?

    • Have you in NSW or elsewhere ever attempted suicide or self-harm?

    • Have you in NSW or elsewhere in the last 12 months been treated or referred for treatment for alcoholism, drug dependence or mental illness within the meaning of the Mental Health Act 2007 or as a mentally disordered person within the meaning of that Act?

    • Are you currently subject to a Good Behaviour Bond?

    • Are you currently subject to an Interim Apprehended Violence Order?

    • Are you currently suffering from any mental illness or other disorder that may prevent you from using a firearm safely?

    • I understand that it is a serious offence under the Firearms Act 1996 to make a statement or provide information that I know is false or misleading and I certify that all the information provided in this eligibility check is true and correct in every detail.

    Congratulations you are eligible to handle a firearm. There are just a couple of important factors you need to agree to:

    • I acknowledge and agree that it is an offence to handle firearms whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol and I confirm I will not be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol on the day of my event.

    • I acknowledge and agree that if my instructor suspects a participant is under the influence of drugs or alcohol on the day on my event, they will be asked to leave and will forego their registration fees.
