F-Class shooting was introduced in the early 2000’s as a way for older shooters to continue shooting. Now it has become one of the fastest growing disciplines across the shooting fraternity. F-Class shooting involves shooting in the prone position with a rifle supported on a front stand and rear bag, using telescopic scopes.
F-Class rifles are also high precision rifles which have been built to specifically perform accurately over long distances. Projectiles and ammunition can be hand made to suit the rifle specs (barrel and twist) to ensure pin point accuracy.
F-Class is an easier introduction to rifle shooting for new shooters.
There are two main competition types of F-Class shooting.
- Individual – Where the shooter has to look at conditions and make changes whilst shooting.
- Team/Coached – Where a coach sits next to the shooter and makes changes for the conditions and tells the shooter when to fire.
